Safety at MV

Student and employee safety and
security is a primary focus of the MVSD. With that goal in mind, this year the MVSD elementary schools will have video surveillance cameras on the premises for the first time. These cameras provide our schools with the ability to help secure our campuses and learning environments. Should you have specific questions regarding this video surveillance, please contact the principal.

Practical, Cutting Edge Interventions for Improving Your Student’s Executive Functioning Skills

Presented by Kristen Jacobsen, MS, CCC, SLP

October 6th 2017,  8:30-3:00

Merrimack Valley High School Auditorium

106 Village St, Penacook NH 03303

Walk away with dozens of functional, ready-to-use strategies for teaching students how to develop executive function skills at school and home. Fresh approaches will be discussed to help students develop automaticity for class routines and transitions. Learn how to clearly define what the executive function skills are for the purpose of determining the most effective interventions and ways to facilitate executive functioning in all students. During this workshop through demonstration and practice you will learn how to teach students the following executive control skills: awareness, forethought, planning skills, impulse control, cognitive flexibility, pace and time awareness and speed of information processing.

Kristen Jacobsen is the Co-Director and Co-Founder of Cognitive Connections in Concord, Massachusetts where she focuses on developing and providing executive functioning programs for students, parents and professionals. Kristen has co-developed the 360-Thinking Program that is based on cutting edge research as well as classroom and clinical experiences to improve all aspects of executive functioning, including time awareness, organization and independent problem solving skills.   Kristen is dedicated to helping children and their families learn effective ways to develop stronger executive functioning skills, as well as training teachers in using simple, effective approaches to maximize executive functioning in their students.
